Mitt Romney

Picture
Former Republican Governor W. Mitt Romney (R-Mass.) encountered a bump on the road to the White House during the 2008 race.  WHO Radio host Jan Mickelson invited the former governor to reconcile for the audience his previous official pro-choice position with his faith.   This is the video that became famous for allegedly employing a "hidden camera".

So says Mr. Romney to Katie Couric: There was a radio talkshow host the other day in Iowa that began drilling me about my faith. And I became intense in confronting what he had said. And we went back & forth. Unbeknownst to me, he had a hidden camera on the console. So this, then, popped up on the Internet, as our exchange. And I was intense.  I wasn't angry, I wasn't out of control. But I was intense. I didn't lose my temper.  I expressed my views directly and forthrightly.

Romney on hidden camera: "I'm not here to talk about Mormonism"

If Gov. Romney is serious about being President, it seems prudent that he engage in Des Moines during this 2012 bid -- unless he feels his credentials and war chest transcend Iowans' desire to get acquainted.
